In the Italian language, La Camera means “The Room”; an unpretentious name for a stylish but modest restaurant, in a location where style is everything.
La Camera’s newly renovated design and lighting creates an airy and modern mix by day, and an elegant ambience by night. Enjoy Melbourne’s amazing city skyline from indoors or on the balconies, whilst sampling La Camera’s extensive menu for breakfast, lunch or dinner
As one of the busiest Italian restaurants in the Southgate building, La Camera prides itself on sumptuous meals, efficient service, superb views of the city and friendly staff. Breakfast, lunch or dinner, as you approach La Camera Southgate, the hum of conversation assures you that you are on to “a good thing”.
When La Camera opened at Southgate 12 years ago the aim was for great Italian dishes at affordable prices along with informal efficient service to its customers. La Camera went on to achieve that and more. Notably it has evolved into a place where regular clientele feel like they are at home and part of the extended family. The family photos create a warm feeling and a great talking point as staff show customers to their table.
Lino, Paul, Arbel , Joe , John , Jana, Ryan and Karel have been part of La Camera from the start . They welcome you and make their family yours for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
A great place to meet with close friends, a romantic dinner for two or simply somewhere to catch a quick bite to eat before a visit to the theatre or opera. Relax, unwind and make La Camera – Your Room… where as with all Italians… “Food Is Life”.
